Some coastal properties offer a beautiful setting. Others offer something far more difficult to find: privacy, protected ocean views and the freedom to live independently, surrounded by nature.

Positioned on a private hilltop within the sought-after Fynbosstrand Eco Estate, this distinctive Cape Fisherman-style residence enjoys magnificent 180° views across the ocean and surrounding valley. Offered fully furnished, it presents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a ready-to-enjoy coastal retreat, whether as an exclusive holiday home or a permanent residence.

Importantly, no development can take place in front of the property, preserving the expansive seascape that makes this setting so special.

A Home Framed by the Ocean

The characterful thatched architecture blends naturally with the surrounding fynbos, while the home's layout makes the most of its elevated position. An open-plan kitchen and living area flows onto a full-length ocean-facing deck, creating an inviting setting for relaxed entertaining, quiet mornings and spectacular sunsets.

The accommodation comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious loft and a basement. The main bedroom enjoys direct ocean views and opens onto a sheltered central courtyard with an outdoor shower and basin. A second bedroom is positioned in a separate wing for added privacy, with its bathroom also serving as a guest facility. The third bedroom opens onto the courtyard, while the loft, illuminated by twin skylights, offers versatile additional space for guests, a study or a private retreat.

The basement provides useful additional space for storage, hobbies or recreational purposes.

Off-Grid Independence & Recent Improvements

Independent living is an integral part of this property's appeal. A solar power system with inverter and batteries, a generator, gas appliances and a private borehole water supply provide greater independence from conventional municipal services.

The home has also benefited from a comprehensive programme of improvements, including new batteries and a generator, interior and exterior painting, new carpets, a refreshed garden, a new double carport and a newly installed fireplace area. Repairs have been carried out to sections of the thatch roof, kitchen doors and plumbing, while stormwater management and garage drainage have been improved. The basement has been waterproofed, and additional gas bottles and a fire extinguisher have been installed.

Aluminium doors and windows, together with a French drain system, further contribute to the home's practical appeal.

A Natural Coastal Conservancy

Fynbosstrand extends the experience beyond the property itself. The estate encompasses approximately 426 hectares of coastal conservancy, with around 1.5 km of seafront. Of its 58 shareholder stands, only 34 have been developed, preserving the low-density character and natural surroundings.

Indigenous fynbos and small wildlife form part of the landscape, while hiking trails, wooden walkways to the beach and opportunities for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and birdwatching offer an outdoor lifestyle shaped by the coast.

With rocky shorelines, sandy beaches and no boundary walls or fences, the estate retains a natural, unspoilt character. Despite its secluded atmosphere, the property is approximately 30 km from Stilbaai and 19 km from Gouritsmond.

A Distinctive Coastal Offering

For buyers seeking an alternative to conventional coastal estate living, this fully furnished home combines an exceptional ocean outlook with off-grid independence, privacy and a close connection to nature. Ready to enjoy from day one, it offers a distinctive setting for holidays or permanent living in a coastal environment where the natural landscape takes centre stage.

Important ownership information: The property is held through a share in the Fynbosstrand sea-farm development rather than conventional full-title ownership. (Shareblock) Pets are not permitted within the estate due to its small wildlife and unfenced environment.
